List of Factors Used by Lyme Doctors to Diagnose Lyme Disease

  • Tick Bite
  • Rash at bite site, 1 day to 2 months after bite
  • Rashes at other sites, 1 day to 2 months after bite

    Note: the following factors may appear at any time after a known or suspected tick bite:

  • Unexplained fevers, sweats, chills
  • Unexplained weight change, loss or gain
  • Fatigue, tiredness
  • Unexplained hair loss
  • Swollen glands
  • Unexplained sore throat
  • Testicular or pelvic pain
  • Unexplained menstrual irregularity
  • Unexplained lactation
  • Irritable bladder or bladder dysfunction
  • Sexual dysfunction or loss of libido (sexual desire)
  • Persistent upset stomach, heartburn or acid reflux
  • Change in bowel function (constipation, diarrhea)
  • Chest pain or rib soreness
  • Shortness of breath, persistent dry cough
  • Heart palpitations, pulse skips, heart block
  • Joint pain or swelling 21. Stiffness of joints, neck or back
  • Muscle pain or cramps
  • Twitching of face or other muscles or whole body when falling asleep
  • Headache
  • Neck creaks and cracks, neck stiffness
  • Tingling, numbness, burning or stabbing sensations
  • Facial paralysis (Bell’s palsy)
  • Eyes/Vision: double, blurry, pain, increased floaters
  • Ears/Hearing: buzzing, ringing, high pitched whine, ear pain
  • Dizziness, poor balance, increased motion sickness
  • Lightheadedness, wooziness, difficulty walking
  • Tremor
  • Confusion, difficulty thinking
  • Difficulty reading or concentrating
  • Forgetfulness, poor short term memory
  • Disorientation: getting lost, going to wrong places
  • Difficulty with speech
  • Mood swings, irritability, depression
  • Disturbed sleep, too much, too little, early awakening
  • Exaggerated hangover symptoms
  • History of heart murmur or valve prolapse
  • Excessively itchy or sensitive skin
  • Aching hands
  • Aching soles or tops of feet
  • Intermittent muscle pain, moves to different parts of body over time
